Yes or No Tarot: a one-card answer to your question

Yes or no tarot is a one-card reading: you ask a question that can be answered with "yes" or "no", draw a single card, and the card’s traditional meaning gives the answer — yes, no or maybe. Write your question below and draw a card; it’s free and takes a few seconds.

Focus on one clear question that can be answered yes or no.

How to ask a yes-or-no question

  1. Ask about one thing at a time: “Will I get this job?” rather than “Will I get the job and move?”
  2. Ask about something you can influence or that is still undecided — not about other people’s private choices in detail.
  3. Phrase it so that “yes” and “no” both make sense, and set a time frame if it matters (“this month”).
  4. Draw once. Repeating the same question until you get the answer you want makes the reading meaningless.

How the answer is read

Each of the 78 cards has a traditional leaning. Bright, open cards such as The Sun, The Star or the Ace of Cups answer “yes”. Cards of loss, blockage or conflict — The Tower, the Ten of Swords, the Five of Pentacles — answer “no”. Cards of choice, waiting or uncertainty, like the Two of Swords or The Hanged Man, answer “maybe”: the outcome still depends on you. The explanation under the verdict tells you why the card leans the way it does.

Frequently asked questions

Is a yes or no tarot reading accurate?

A one-card reading gives a short, symbolic answer, not a guaranteed prediction. It works best as a quick check of how a situation feels right now; for complex questions, a full spread that looks at causes and outcomes gives a much clearer picture.

Can I ask the same question twice?

It’s better not to. The first card is the answer to the question as you asked it. If the situation changes, ask again later — or rephrase the question to focus on what you can do.

What does “maybe” mean?

“Maybe” cards describe situations that are not settled yet: a choice to be made, a pause or missing information. The outcome depends on your next step, so it’s worth asking what to do rather than what will happen.
